Week 10, Class 2 The Inquiry Wheel (Sorting out)

Okay... so today, we continued the "sorting out" part of the inquiry wheel. It was great fun. But, since we are in the last number and still had a lot of time of this class, we decided to have the other interviews.

1. So, we planned to interview Mr. Jason, Mr. Raj and Mr. Ben, so we decided to go out of the class and go find them. It was so hard to find them since they are still lecturing other classes, and i was a pain in the neck, so we decided to go down to the front office to ask the teachers down there where they were, and they had no idea, but then, we saw some people getting into Mr. Adam's office, and we did exactly that.

2. No one in our team wanted to interview Mr. Adam since you know... we are nervous! But, anyways, we voted to have Helen interview Mr. Adam, and it was great, most of the questions we ask had the same answer, so, yeah! We wrote them down, and it was epic! Yayyyyy Then, we wanted to interview another teacher, but the time is up! So, we had to move on to the next subject which is Mandarin!

This is Gaby hiding her face from the camera...

3. On what we can improve next time is to be faster at doing stuff, so we have to make haste!

I hope you liked this blog post, and may God bless ya'll!

Week 10 Class 1 The Inquiry Wheel (Sorting Out)

Okay, so today we did our Sorting Out questions. It was fun, since we finished last week. But we didn't really do anything because we were done with pretty much everything, except we need to ask 3 more questions, thankfully I did mine. So basically I didn't really do anything, besides mastering some of the things that were needed to be mastered.

I have asked Mr David for my Questionnaires, and the only teachers left we need to interview is Mr. Raj, Mr. Jason and Mr. Ben. We are gonna ask them by this week.

Kim and Helen (from left to right)

After Kim, Jen, and Helen found out that I was taking a picture, they immediately hide under their laptops, it was hilarious! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I hope we can do the interview much faster next time, or as we can say accomplish something earlier/faster next time. I'm actually really satisfied that we can do it fast. Hope you guys enjoy the post for today! I'll see you all again next updatee!
BYEE :D
Have a very wonderful day :)))

Week 9, Class 2 The inquiry wheel (Finding Out)

Today we continued the "Finding Out" part of the inquiry wheel! It was okay... *Continue reading...*

1. Okay... so today we continued the "Finding Out" questions! It was epic, since we are done! But, the bad thing is that we don't have anything else to do, so we updated the blog, and it was quite fun! We did it together, but while we discuss, so it looks like only one person is typing the blog most of the time, but actually, we did it together, and did you know that we can save this post and then we just need to umm... edit it later on, and that's the reason why you guys can't really read it on time, but we always update it on the day! See the date above this post if you don't believe me!

2. We read our research and it turns out that it is so little, so we need to do more research with the books in the library or the internet! I mean like... seriously! We need more research. Well... we did that later on since we loveeeee to procrastinate our work! (which is a bad thing though...)

Mr. Rick told us who haven't submitted the assignments and asked them to submit those things! Seriously! He's sooooooooo kind! :) This is the picture when he is checking the scores!

See! Look at that! He even had hand gestures for telling us the scores! WOW!

3. We did a little bit more of research, but we can't show it to you guys, because it is a total hard work! Not being selfish... but you guys need to do your own research, and not getting it from our parts! It's not fair, but if you want par of our research, then you could ask us, but not just copy-pasting from our research without permission. Last year, a male student from 7A took the picture from another blog, and put it as his own, and the owned of the blog (that got A picture stolen) got his friends to help talk to him. Then he deleted the picture and threw it away. He was so mad, but then... he cheered up later on when he met his other friends... The point is that you need to make decisions wisely! Well, at least don't copy-paste someone's work! Because it's called as plagiarism! And it's a bad thing!

4. On what we can do better next time is to try to work things out a bit more quickly! It is better if you do that you know! The faster, the better!

Hope you liked this post, I'm so sorry for having too many words on it, and less pictures! We'll try to get more pictures later on! See you next class! Byeeeee

Week 9, Class 1 The inquiry Wheel (Finding out)

Today is a very fun day, well... you'll see it later on!

1. Mr. Rick asked us to finish section 2 of the inquiry wheel... and everyone was like, "Wait! What? Section 2? I thought we did it last class and this class is supposed to be for section 3!" And then Mr. Rick said that this week is for research week, and we have to be done with only the "Finding Out" questions and have an interview with someone, research for the answers and basically... do all of that! Well... anyways, this is what it looks like when he tells the class to do it!

Well, at least we got his back! (Hi Pastor Mak!)

2. The questions for this section "Finding out" are:
  1. What kind of resources might help?
  2. Where do I find them?
  3. How do i know that this information is valid?
  4. Who is responsible for his information?
  5. What search words or approaches are most useful?
  6. What am i feeling about this phase in my inquiry?
  7. How can I deal with these feelings in a way that will enhance my success?
This is what it looks like when we are almost done with the document:

3. We need to divide our jobs for the research equally, so one person has to do the research with the library books, the other has to do the research with the internet and the other has to do the research in the form of an interview, well... at least we've got questions the person, that is related to our topic! And they are a pretty good secondary resource you know!

4. On what we can do better next time is not to procrastinate our work. If we do, then we will get more pressure when we do the stuff. It would be harder to do it. So, we better do it for the real deal!

Thanks for reading this post, I hope you liked it, and I'll see you guys soon! Byeeeeee :)

Week 8, Class 2 The inquiry wheel (Questionnaire)

Today, Mr. Rick asks us to continue the stuff from the inquiry wheel that isn't done yet, and since we we're done since last class, we just need to make the questionnaires!

1. We started to make the questionnaires that helps us to answer the question! But, we don't ask the topic question in the questionnaire, we asked the questions that are related to it.

This is what the questionnaire look like when we are working on it.

2. One member of the cosmos team displaced her toe bone when she hit her wardrobe, and she had to do everything, well, not really everything, but most of the things down stairs in the front office, and she can't attend classes as well, but she still contribute in this thing, you know why?
We don't do it in the front office and don't even meet, so we chatted with her in google hangouts during History time and informed her to open the file that Gaby sent us, so she opened it, and we did it together! See how technology helped us, we can do a project from different places, and it still have the same result, and since we can't talk to her like the rest of us could, we opened a tab and chatted with her there. (Blue box, in the picture!)

3. We learnt that there is always a way to work together as a team even though we are in different places of the world. We can still get our job done!

4. On what we can do better next time is try to concentrate on our work, and not get distracted with the other stuff in the internet, like the lyrics to our favorite song and emails from our friends!

Hope you enjoyed this blog update! See you on next class! Byeeeee! :)

Week 8, Class 1 Inquiry Wheel (Finding out)

Today, Mr. Rick asks us to continue the inquiry wheel. Well, not continue from yesterday's one, but continue the next step of the wheel.
1. For those of you who have no idea on what an inquiry wheel looks like, it looks like this:

Hope that you could see it! :)

Mr. rick asks us to do the "Finding out" questions! The last step was not as hard as this one, in this one, we have to do lots of research unlike the other one, because the other one was just to make you tag along, it is just like a beginner.

2. Mr. Rick told us not only to look at wikipedia, since many of us used it, but we have to use other websites like Yahoo Answers, blogs, wiki answers and other sites that couldn't be mentioned here, like university sites (their research). Other than surfing the internet, we also could do an interview with the people who lived there or have a relationship with it. Like Mr. David, Mr. Raj, Mr. Ben and much more, we could also read a book that is relevant to it.

4. On what we can improve later on, we could try to work on things faster and collaborate with the team better! :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this blogpost! Blessings! :)

Week 7, Class 2: The inquiry wheel (Tuning in)

Today, Mr. Rick was shocked that all of us was done resenting in 1 whole period. He was so shocked, and called us Amazing! :)

1. Today, Mr. Rick asks us to look at the piece of paper under the stuffed animal that have been there for what seemed like forever. He told us to read it one by one, well... at least the "tuning in" part.

This is what it looks like:

No one in the team could read it except for "SUPER KIMMY"!

Well, she tried to read it, and for a while, one member of the cosmos team had an idea to look at the image in our laptops, or search it with Google, and we did exactly that!

2. The questions there helps us to grasp the idea of our topic, and the topic was: How was it that Britain control 1/4 of the world? The questions are:
  1. What do I know about this topic?
  2. What do I know about my question?
  3. What do I need to know about my question?
  4. What could an answer be?
  5. What are the phases of the inquiry process?
  6. What are some possible ideas about my topic that I'm interested in?
  7. How do i know it?
  8. What am I feeling?
  9. How are my feelings likely to change during the inquiry process?
And we did it together in Google Drive! The scribe made the document, and we did it there together!

3. Well, on what we can improve later on, we could be more helpful in the team, also we have to consider others idea! I hope we did it correctly! ;) Byeeeeee

Hope you like this blogpost, and if this is the first time for you to read posts from this blog, please read other posts from this blog! Thanks and God Bless! :)

Week 7, Class 1 Team activity submission

Today was the day when we submit our team activity.

1. Mr. Rick asks us to fill in a sheet of paper, there are grades in them, but we aren't supposed to fill them in, so, we just write the group name and return in back to Mr. Rick. The first one to hand it to him will be the last one to present, so we tried to hand it to him as fast as we could, and we did it. Yayyyyyy!

2. The first one to present was... I dunno! But they presented the Manchester thing... And the next was Abba team, they presented about the Crystal Palace, theirs was unique, they didn't make a landscape, they just made a poster! But it was epic! The next was a team that made a bridge, the team after that was Diakonos team, they made a bridgewater canal. And finally, it's our turn, we presented the class about the iron bridge and we don't know if we did quite well, but here id the picture of the iron bridge:

I am so sorry that we don't have the pictures for the other teams, because it was so packed there.

3. On what we can do better next time is to work on the project more harmoniously and add more "togetherness" in it. I hope we'd get a good score! :)

Thanks For reading! Blessings! :)

Week 6, Class 2 Time to work!

Today is the best history class ever. You'll see why!

1. Okay, so we had lectures from Pastor Rick about the team presentation, and try not to read your slides, you have to present them, not read them! And he did a full-20 minute presentation about it, and after he is done lecturing us, he told us to lecture the class just like that, I mean... that would be hard.

This is what it looks like when he is lecturing:

This is what it looks like while he was lecturing:

2. Mr. Rick lectured us about the powerpoint presentation, and he told us to present it deeply, and not look at the screen. Your head must be facing forward. Nothing, well, only a few things could be said from the board, but the rest must be from your gut. *hmm* He said that if we read the screen for the project, we would automatically get a "big fat 0". And, luckily, we did a landscape instead of a powerpoint presentation or even a poster. It was a great thing.

3. Time for LDL teaching! It took the teacher 10 minutes to lecture the topic. Today's topic was the exact same one like yesterday's.

This is the picture of Gaby teaching the team:

Gooooo Gabssss

After all the teaching, Mr. Rick told us to continue our project, and it was an epic time. We put trees everywhere and did other stuff. Also, when we entered the class, Pastor Mak shouts really loud, and all of us were shocked, well... i think that's the purpose, he said that he loved our project, and Mr. Rick was like:"Rockin' Rockin' Rockin' Rockin' Rockin' Rockin' !" We were like:"Thanks!"

We didn't boast or anything, but yeah!

4. On what we can do better next time is to spend more time to do the project rather than chatting with friends!

I hope you enjoyed our update for today, and yeah! If this is the first time for you to read this blog, please read the other posts! I think you'll enjoy them! They'll be epic. Trust me! Well, at least I hope you'll be able to enjoy it. Blessings! :) Byeeeeeee

Week 6, Class 1 Victorian Values: Social issues

Today was a Surprising day! You'll see why later on...

1. Today, Mr. Rick was lecturing us the topic for today, and it was about the victorian values. This is what it looks like when he is teaching the team:

He never looks at his powerpoint slides you know! It's so epic!

2. He lectured us about the Victorian values! At that time, Britain had no machines, people had to use man to power them, and it is such a hard work, it could also be called as torture... They need to do this for getting crops, smelting Iron ores. Britain needs a cheap labour to do this, because hiring skilled people cost a lot! If they don't have it, British's economy will fall and crash which is a very bad thing, so they get slaves, who work for free.

The slaves are the "black" people (not meaning to be racist, but it was what they call them in those days), Britain has a strong economy, because they had slaves working for the British people. They trade the slaves with the United States to get raw materials, and they get the slaves from Africa, and there, people had a race, so the winner will be the one who pushes the loser to the boat to be sent to Britain.

Women were second class citizens *how rude?!* They don't have the right to vote, work, have high education and stuff like that! It was so bad. I mean like... seriously! It is! Only men are allowed to do those stuff. >:(      *I think that's how to make an angry face...*

Their job was to get married, have babies and do housework, and that's it. They are paid less, and they can only work in mines, they are also paid less, or even not being paid at all. *sniff*

With the help of Mr. Technology and Mrs. Machine, people are not employed to crank machines, work in mines and stuff like that. They don't need slaves any more, and slavery was abolished! *yayyyyyyyyyy* Now, women are equal, and there is nothing to worry about. *yipee*

3. The next part of class is To teach the team! Yayyyyy! Well, anyways, Mr. Rick shuoted:"Class..." And we would answer him, and then he shouts:"Teach" We all shouted okay! I think we should get a picture of this next time! Well... yeah!

This is the 3rd teacher teaching the team:

Yeah! Gooooo Kimmy! woo hoo!

4. On what we can do better next time is not to disturb the teacher lecturing the team, or even Mr. Rick!

Hope you enjoyed this update, and if this is the first time for you to read our blog, try reading other updates, they are epic too! See ya and May God Bless you!
